How it works

Three steps, then fly without the worry

1

Forward your booking

We find every flight and traveller on it and email you back a price within a minute.

2

Choose your pass

Pick how big your card should be: 1.5× or 2× your fare. Pay by card. That's it.

3

Get a card if you're stuck

We watch your flight from the day before. If it's 3+ hours late or cancelled, your card arrives within a minute.

3 hours

Delay or cancellation that sends you a card. We see it from live flight data, so there's nothing to claim.

Up to 2×

Your fare, loaded on a virtual card that works at any airline or travel agency for 24 hours.

1 minute

From the delay to the card in your inbox. Book the next flight out before the queue at the desk forms.

Questions

Good to know

How is this different from travel insurance?

Travel insurance pays you back later, after a claim. The Flight Delay Pass gets you moving straight away: if your flight is 3+ hours late or cancelled, you get a card preloaded to book a new flight. The card buys new flights only and is never paid out as cash. There's nothing to claim and no receipts to send.

How much does it cost?

It depends on how likely your flight is to be disrupted on your travel date, and on your fare. Forward your booking to see your price; there's no obligation to buy.

When do I need to buy it?

At least 48 hours before your first flight. A price we send holds for 24 hours; after that, forward the booking again for a fresh one.

What does one pass include?

Every flight and every traveller on the booking you forward. If any of those flights is 3+ hours late or cancelled, the card is sent.

How does the card reach me, and where can I use it?

We email you a link to a virtual card the moment the delay is confirmed. It works for 24 hours at any airline or travel agency, online or by phone, for new flights only; it can't be paid out as cash. If the new flight costs more than the card, you can top it up with your own money.

Which bookings can I forward?

Confirmation or e-ticket emails from Singapore Airlines or Virgin Australia, for most bookings worth about A$500 to A$15,000 (or the same in your currency). If we can't price a booking, we'll email you to say why.

What happens to my email?

We read the booking details we need to price and watch your flights: flight numbers, dates, travellers and fare. Our Privacy Notice has the details.
